Advocate Radiation Oncology's Venice office is located in Wellen Park, one of America's top-selling master-planned communities in south Sarasota County, and was opened to bring radiation cancer care closer to residents of the Venice and North Port areas. The state-of-the-art center offers seven treatment modalities: external-beam radiotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), surface-guided radiation therapy, and deep-inspiration breath hold. It is equipped with industry-leading Varian technology, including the Halcyon, Identify, and TrueBeam radiotherapy systems, among the most precise cancer-fighting machines available. Board-certified radiation oncologists, including Drs. David Rice and Brian Lawenda, serve the Venice location, treating breast, prostate, lung, head-and-neck, and other cancers. The Venice center is part of Advocate's locally owned network of multiple cancer treatment centers across southern Florida, positioned between its Bradenton location to the north and Port Charlotte to the south.
