Dr. Michael J. Dattoli is a board-certified radiation oncologist and the founder of the Dattoli Cancer Center & Brachytherapy Research Institute in Sarasota, with more than 40 years in medicine and well over two decades of brachytherapy experience encompassing thousands of prostate seed-implant procedures. He earned his medical degree at the Mount Sinai (Icahn) School of Medicine, completed radiation oncology training at NYU Medical Center, and was a Special Fellow in Brachytherapy at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Hospital-Cornell University Medical Center. His center is best known for prostate cancer treatment, pairing Brachytherapy Seed Implants with Dynamic Adaptive Radiotherapy (DART), and he has extended these image-guided radiotherapy techniques to breast, head and neck, GI, gynecologic, lung, and sarcoma malignancies. He is widely published and internationally recognized as a pioneer in optimizing brachytherapy to maximize tumor control while minimizing side effects.
