Dr. Priya M. Mathews, MD, MPH is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cataract, LASIK, and corneal surgeon at Center For Sight, practicing across its Venice, Sarasota, and University Park offices. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Public Health (epidemiology and biostatistics) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, completed her ophthalmology residency at the Harkness Eye Institute at Columbia University Medical Center, and finished a Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Her clinical focus combines refractive surgery (LASIK) with cataract and lens replacement surgery and advanced corneal care, including keratoconus, Fuchs' Dystrophy, autoimmune ocular disease, and severe dry eye. She was honored with a 2022 Rising Stars in Ophthalmology award and is a member of the AAO, ASCRS, the Pediatric Keratoplasty Association, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. She practices within the large Center For Sight / US Eye group and is among its newer fellowship-trained surgeons (in practice since the mid-2010s).
