Dr. Alberico Sessa is a dual-trained cosmetic surgeon and the founder of Sarasota Surgical Arts, a high-volume cosmetic surgery practice and certified surgery center on Clark Road in Sarasota. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, then a full-body and facial cosmetic surgery fellowship accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City, where he participated in more than 700 procedures. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (facial, body and extremity cosmetic surgery), and holds the DMD as well as MD degrees. His practice spans both face and body procedures, including facelift, fat transfer to the face, liposuction, breast augmentation, tummy tuck and the trademarked SmartLift, and the center performs roughly 1,200 cosmetic procedures per fellowship year. Beyond his own surgery, Dr. Sessa directs an accredited cosmetic surgery fellowship, serves as an oral board examiner for new cosmetic surgeons, and publishes peer-reviewed work, making education a major component of his practice.
