Dr. Cathleen M. McCabe, MD is the Medical Director of The Eye Associates and a nationally prominent cataract and refractive surgery specialist serving Sarasota and Bradenton, FL. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed residency training at the highly regarded Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami. Her clinical focus is bladeless laser cataract surgery and premium/multifocal intraocular lens implantation, along with LASIK refractive surgery, having personally performed more than 45,000 cataract surgeries and over 17,000 LASIK procedures. Beyond surgery she is a recognized thought leader: she serves as Chief Medical Officer of Eye Health America, has chaired the Refractive Surgery Clinical Committee of the ASCRS, is a past president of CEDARS/ASPEN and the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, and has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for multiple years.
