Sarasota Robotic Urology is the practice of Dr. Daniel Kaplon, MD, FACS, a board-certified urologist who is fellowship-trained in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, endourology, and minimally invasive surgery. Kaplon received his advanced robotics and laparoscopy training at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 2008, where he also helped teach other urologists advanced laparoscopic techniques in a national program. He is specialty-trained in da Vinci robotic procedures, particularly da Vinci robotic prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer, and has extensive experience applying minimally invasive approaches to urologic oncology, reconstruction (such as pyeloplasty for urinary obstruction), and kidney stone disease. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he has lectured and presented research nationally and received research awards in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Kaplon practices in Sarasota and is also part of the Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group urology network, combining a robotic-surgery-focused identity with hospital-system affiliation.
