LernerCohen Concierge Healthcare is one of the first true concierge medical practices established in Sarasota, founded in 2005 by Brad S. Lerner, MD and Louis M. Cohen, MD, two longtime, board-certified Sarasota internists with more than 50 years of combined experience. Dr. Lerner earned his MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha) after a biological-chemistry degree from Johns Hopkins, trained at UNC-Chapel Hill, and previously served as Chief Medical Administrative Officer of First Physicians Group; he speaks English and Spanish. Dr. Cohen is board certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine (certified in geriatrics in 1992), earned his MD from SUNY Upstate, and earlier led over 100 clinical research programs with interests in cholesterol disorders and osteoporosis. The practice deliberately limits its patient panel and gives members their physicians' direct cell numbers with 24/7 availability, daily hospital visits, and supervision of outside testing. On-site support includes a dietitian and physical therapy, plus coordination of specialist referrals and surgery. The office is located at 1921 Waldemere St in Sarasota, affiliated with Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
