Sarasota Periodontal Associates is one of the region's oldest periodontal practices, founded in 1967 by Dr. Lewis Hanan, with Dr. N. Joseph Farris joining in 1993 and now leading a sizable group of board-certified periodontists. The current team, all Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology, includes Dr. Joseph Farris, Dr. Javier Gonzalez, Dr. Pragya Sharma, Dr. Claire Little, and Dr. Hugo Zegarra. Dr. Farris was the first periodontist to obtain Board Certification in Periodontology in Sarasota County and focuses on periodontal plastic microsurgery, regenerative procedures, pre-prosthetic periodontal surgery, and dental implants. The practice offers conservative and surgical treatment of gum disease, cosmetic periodontal procedures, and single- or multiple-tooth dental implants using evidence-based methods and modern technology. They operate three offices serving Sarasota, Venice, and Lakewood Ranch.
