SkinSmart Dermatology was founded in 2005 by Dr. Elizabeth Callahan, who is double board-certified in Dermatology and Mohs Micrographic Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). She graduated from the University of Vermont (Larner) College of Medicine, completed her dermatology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (serving as chief resident), and finished a fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery/Cosmetics and Mohs Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in 2002. The practice has grown into a roughly 10,000-square-foot facility in Sarasota with a staff of nearly 40, pairing medical dermatology and skin-cancer care with a full aesthetic menu. On the laser and cosmetic side the practice offers laser skin resurfacing, IPL photofacials, Ultherapy skin tightening, CoolSculpting body contouring, Botox and injectable fillers. Dr. Callahan has been named a top dermatologist by Castle Connolly repeatedly since 2011, and her practice handles everything from general medical dermatology and acne to Mohs surgery for skin cancer.
